Developers Section

This section provides developers with information and instructions of how they can create their own plugins for a1Cataloger. The program supports 2 types of plugins: Packer plugins (files with .wcx extension) and Content plugins (.wdx). You are able to create plugin any of these types.

Packer plugins are the extensions for the program which are using for expanding archive support.

Content plugins are using to extract additional information from files of different types.

For convenience we are using the same SDK as very popular file-manager Total Commander uses. It is very useful, because there are many already created plugins for this program and the structure of that plugins is the most appropriate for the a1Cataloger needs.

To create your own plugin download the SDK for type of plugins you want to develop:

These SDKs contain the detailed instructions about plugins creation and the header files on C and Delphi.

How to publish your plugins?

If you have your own plugin and want it to be included into the program distrib or to be published on our site (in this and download section of the site), you may do it in 2 following ways:

  • If your plugin is already published on any site in the Internet, you can send us an email with the link to your plugin (to the page, where we can download it). The page must contain a short description of the plugin, or you may include description into your email.
  • If your plugin is not published yet (e.g. just created or using for your own needs), you may send us an email with short plugin description and the attached plugin. Please, send your attachments in the ZIP format only.

Send your emails to develop@virtuelogic.com. The plugin will be reviewed and tested for proper working with the a1Cataloger, and if pass all tests it will be published.
